Seeing the sights

Like I mentioned in my last post, I recently moved to a new city to start my career (and my adult life). While I've been to Charlotte several times before, I've never been able to call a big city like it my home before. A quick drive into uptown and a peak in curiosity led me to explore the Queen City a bit over the last week.

In one outing, we went to three distinct parts of town, each one absolutely different from the last, and got a feel for the life and culture in different parts of the city. I feel like I'll still be exploring this city for years to come. I loved living life in a small town where I knew everyone and how to get everywhere, but the sheer amount of things to do under the city skyline is stunning. Every day, I add one or two new things to my Charlotte Bucket List.

There's something to be said for the excitement of moving somewhere new. Once you get all the boxes unpacked, paperwork signed over and are feeling a bit settled, the sky is the limit. There are so many nooks and crannies in any city or town, and moving just about anywhere offers a fair bit of exploring. Having so much to explore for myself leaves a lot to look forward to in the weeks to come.

I hope I keep this mindset even when I feel comfortable here. There is always more to explore, more to learn, more to see. One of life's great gifts is the joy of trying new things (and hopefully loving them). I hope to always be on the lookout for the next bucket list item. Nobody ever really knows all of a place, even if they've lived there for their entire life. Here's to always treating a city or small town like there's more to explore.
